Notes from call:

• Luke called during a lull before the breakfast rush, sounded rushed, kept getting interrupted by orders in the background
• Wants someone who can “just fix things and not talk my ear off” — emphasized this twice
• Needs help with plumbing, electrical, general repairs, the awning specifically (“it’s fallen twice this month”)
• Also some occasional work at his house, didn’t want to give more detail than that
• Asked if candidates could start “yesterday” — talked down to “within the next couple weeks” after some negotiating
• Pushed back on doing a formal interview process, wanted to “just meet the guy and shake his hand”
• When asked about pay, said “whatever’s fair, I’m not trying to lowball anybody” — recruiter to follow up with a rate range
• Mentioned town events (festivals, dance marathon) as busy stretches where things break more
• Got noticeably impatient when asked about benefits, said “coffee’s a benefit, right?” — recruiter clarified he’d still need standard comp details
• Confirmed he does NOT want candidates who ask a lot of questions, “I already have Kirk for that”
• Call ended abruptly, Luke said “just send me someone who can hold a wrench,” hung up
